The Civic Theater is a project in 5 acts, each expressed as a model and placed sequentially in 5 rooms of the exhibition at the National Museum of Contemporary Art in Lisbon. The project takes Gustav Freytag´s 5 act dramatic structure (exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and dénouement) as the framework for the exploration of a civic imagination in different scales and with architectural elements. Each of the models investigate a civic imaginary through a specific architectural condition such as colonnade, amphitheater, square, threshold and door.
The models were a part of the Inner Space exhibition at the Lisbon Triennale curated by
Mariabruna Fabrizi and Fosco Lucarelli.
